If you find inappropriate websites after performing a search, click the Setting Link at the top right beneath the search bar and select Search Settings.

Step - 2

After clicking, the Search Settings Screen will open. At the top of this screen, you should see a Safe Search on/off-link. To activate, turn on the Safe Search link. Safe Search can also be locked by selecting this option as well.

How do I know SafeSearch is on? Click on the settings logo, to the left of the search box. Select “Search settings”. Put a tick in the “Turn on SafeSearch” box, then click “Lock SafeSearch”. When you see the coloured ball graphics on the Google screen, you know SafeSearch has been turned on.


Important Note

If you want your browser to remember the setting, sign in to a Google Account before activating Safe Search.
