What is Metaverse Technology?

If you want to know how will the internet be in the coming days? Then you must know the platform launched by Facebook called Metaverse. You will be amazed to know how Metaverse Technology will change our world. The digital world is going to dominate.

Today, we are going to learn about Metaverse and its different sections. We will also know what kind of new internet is coming which is going to change a lot of things.

The first idea of the Metaverse is found in a science fiction book. In 1992, writer Neal Stephenson wrote a book called "Snow Crash" in which he told that you can go into such a 3D World in which one can take any shape, and he named it an avatar. You can take any shape, costume, or avatar and can go into that 3D World to do such wonders that you can do in the real world rather you can't imagine doing those things in the real world. This concept became famous and today the name "Metaverse" has been taken from this novel.

You might have played 2D interactive games a lot in which economy and socializing are involved. We give money to buy tokens and play games together with other people. These kinds of games include Second Knife, Fortnight, Minecraft, etc. These are the 2D games in which games interact with us and we interact with the games but Metaverse is ahead of these kinds of games because it is a three-dimensional (3D) interactive game. This is a new version of the internet. First of all, let's discuss some of the characteristics of Metaverse.

The first social network is Facebook to connect people with each other. The internet not only connects people but also connects things. This is called the Internet of Things (IoT) which connects all the electronic devices present at home. Both these technologies are included in Metaverse. In Metaverse, one can socialize with people and at the same time can communicate with things but besides this, the new Metaverse also includes an amazing third thing which is the digital human being. They will be chatbots like human beings which will be Artificial Intelligent. They will not be real human beings but they will be artificial human beings developed in the game that will get more and more intelligent with time as they will keep learning in the games from real human beings.

To understand Metaverse, one must understand the concept of the virtual world. A virtual world is a three-dimensional (3D) simulation in which we wear digital spectacles of virtual reality and feel we are inside the three-dimensional (3D) interactive simulation. So, the virtual world is one of the essential parts of the Metaverse.

Like virtual reality, Augmented Reality (AR) is also a part of the Metaverse. Augmented Reality (AR) means that you have placed different things or data on the computer-generated picture. For example, you want to buy a sofa set online and you want to see how this sofa set will look in your drawing room? With the help of Augmented Reality (AR), you can check it and see whether it looks good or bad. Take a picture of your drawing room with your mobile or camera and put the sofa set where want to put it with the help of Augmented Reality (AR). You can see it like that, in reality, to know whether the sofa set is looking good or otherwise.

The third thing is the special internet which is called 3.0 Web. It shows us ways, positions, and distances. We see Google Earth today sitting in front of the screen but in the future Google Earth will take us to the location we are searching for and when we look left or right there, we will able to see the exact location and way of the site we want to go to. The special Internet 3.0 Web is also a part of the Metaverse.

Facebook has launched the Metaverse platform where you will live your online life. There will be a lot of virtual communities in which you will be connected. There will be a lot of virtual space for your living and these virtual spaces will be associated with the places in reality. So, Facebook will not be your home page but it will be your home location or virtual location. It will be like your home. You can set and decorate according to your choice. You will be able to control entry and exit. You will control who can come and go to deliver a message. 

This will also include emotions. You will be able to smile and express your emotions. You will be able to control things with your thinking. First, you will need sensors but later with advanced technology, your thoughts will control everything. In this platform, you will not need to type or click but you will do things with gestures. So, in the world of Metaverse, all those things will be possible that we do in the real world.

For this technology, we will need a lot of sensors and an Oculus Wear headset is one of them. You can do a meeting anywhere in the soft locations. If you want to do a meeting in space, the environment of space will be provided to your avatar because this software has a physics engine. If you want to meet someone on Mars, it will simulate the same environment of Mars for your avatar.

If you click on a hyperlink on Facebook, you go from one page to another page but in Metaverse, you will be teleported in the future. It means you will reach from one location to another instantly which is called teleportation.

Metaverse will also change the world of learning. You will see advancement in learning. You will see the locations of schools. You will study virtually. 

There will be advancements in hospitals. Your avatar will go to the hospital where the doctor's avatar will be present to advise prescriptions.

There are a lot of companies like Microsoft and Nvidia that are designing Metaverse-like platforms. The platform Nvidia is called Onlyverse. These platforms will be connected with each other. We will make real-world simulations in Nvidia's Platform "Onlyverse".

These platforms are divided into four categories. The first one is called Mirror Images which makes mirror images. Google Earth is its best example. You will see everything exactly present in that location or city.

The second application is life logging in which you will log your life with the help of different sensors. If you go to a place on a trip, you will be able to make a complete simulation of that trip with your feelings and emotions at different times and locations and anyone can explore it later with the same emotions and feelings as if he is going through the same experience. So, lifelogging is going to supersede blogging and vlogging in the future.

There will be lifelogging in these platforms which will be using augmented technologies. We will have virtual worlds in which there will be 3D avatars and these avatars will grow in these platforms and will get intelligent with the passage of time. They will interactively talk with you and at the same time will be learning from you too. These avatars will learn just like a human learns and will socialize in the same way. There will be trading, economy, and different currencies This application will come in the next five to ten years. So, be prepared for this wonderful and amazing digital world.
